Each year, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Association of Asheville and Buncombe County hosts the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Prayer Breakfast at the Crowne Plaza Resort in West Asheville, bringing together and inspiring over 1,000 community members.
In 2026, the Association celebrated the 45th annual Prayer Breakfast under the theme “Celebrating 45 Years of Resilience – Marching Toward the Dream.”
The keynote speaker was Mike Kelly, the Founder and Principal of Kelly Financial Planning, an hourly, fee-only firm that helps individuals, families, and organizations align their life goals with sound financial decisions.
